Introduction

Staff can send text messages to students or colleagues if they have an active mobile number.

This service allows you to send SMS messages to one or more mobiles (or landline telephone numbers capable of accepting SMS messages) through a web interface.  It is provided through an external provider, Text Anywhere.   

Current uses of the service include:

• Communications with prospective students and offer holders.
• Contacting students for student support purposes.
• Appointment reminders.
• Emergency business continuity messages and campus status alerts for small groups of staff.

Each message sent using this service costs 4.1 pence.
