Quick Tips

Step 1: Login to https://www.office365.ed.ac.uk/ using your University Login, navigate to the App Launcher in the top left-hand corner of the screen and select the OneDrive icon

Step 2: Open a File Explorer window from your desktop and browse to the network drive containing the files to be uploaded

Step 3: Select the file(s) to be uploaded

Step 4: Drag and drop the selected files to the main area of your OneDrive’s document library

Step 5: The information bar will update you on the status of the upload and confirm when all documents have been uploaded

Step 6: Your files are now uploaded and available to access online from any device using OneDrive for Business

Please note: Last Modified file metadata will be reset on the copied files once migrated over to OneDrive. (The metadata of the original files in your personal drive will not be affected.)

Step 1: Login to https://www.office365.ed.ac.uk/ using your University Login, navigate to the App Launcher in the top left-hand corner of the screen and select the OneDrive icon

Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Shared’ button on the left-hand side of the screen.

1. Within this section you can review all documents shared with you, whether directly or as part of an Office 365 Group or Microsoft Team

Step 3: Navigate to the ‘Shared by me’ button on the top-bar. Within this section you can review all documents shared by you to others.

Step 4: To review who you have shared a particular document with, click on the file then navigate to ‘Manage access’ on the top-bar.

Step 5: Within the bar that opens on the right-hand side, you can choose to:

1. Stop sharing the document entirely
2. Review all links that people may use to access this item under ‘Links Giving Access’
3. Review the people and groups that have been given direct access to this item under ‘Direct Access’
4. Click on the pencil icon beside each username to modify their edit/view permissions or to stop sharing the file with them
