Data Library supporting AQMeN network

For much of the past year the Data Library has been actively involved with the development of, and ongoing support for, the website of the recently established Applied Quantitative Methods Network (AQMeN) in Scotland.

AQMeN is a collaborative initiative funded jointly by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) from July 2009 to June 2012. Headed by Director Susan McVie, Senior Research Fellow at Edinburgh Law School, AQMeN is a collaboration of eight Scottish universities aimed at boosting capacity in quantitative methods in Scotland.

The network, which is based at the University of Edinburgh, was formally launched last Autumn and now boasts around 600 members, comprising academics and non-academics from a range of organisations and disciplines, all with an interest in quantitative methods.

AQMeN resources include training, expert statistical advice and support, online learning resources and knowledge exchange.

There is a range of local activities, and members are kept informed about events hosted by other organisations which may be of interest.

Further information about AQMeN, its resources and planned activities may be found on the network’s website.
