Buildings Maintenance enters the mobile era

We have successfully completed our migration to the new online Estates Helpdesk and the system is now live.

The system provides a new on-line portal to over 500 faults reporters across the university, utilising the Archibus on-demand application.

The building maintenance work is then routed to over 75 tradespeople via their smart phones, ensuring quick and efficient resolution of any issues. They are supported by an Estates helpdesk team, who are responsible for managing the overall workload of approximately 200 jobs a day.  All of this replaces a predominantly paper based system.

ISG have worked closely with Estates to deliver the implementation of this key service, and a huge amount of effort has taken place from initial planning to successful implementation. The new Helpdesk is the second step of Estates service change and supports the improvements made last year in reorganising the maintenance teams.
