Improvements made to School Programme and Quality System

A recent project has enhanced the School Programme and Quality System, used for quality reporting at the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

The project focussed on implementing enhancements to the School Programme and Quality System (SPQS), as identified by the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Quality Assurance Committee.

SPQS was originally developed by John Allison with the most recent enhancements undertaken by Gavin Pennycook from Development Services at the University of Edinburgh. It was then implemented to the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences for use in reporting on programme quality.

The improvements made to the system offer several benefits, including better compliance with GDPR requirements, a more streamlined academic programme reporting process and better tracking of report completion. Enhancements will also help to insure that the sustainability of academic programmes at the College is assessed on a continuous basis.

The recent project to enhance the School Programme and Quality System (SPQS) was a major success. Vital improvements have now been made to the interface, optimising the user experience and adding features to support data protection and reporting compliance. The experience of working with the project team was fantastic throughout the process
