Information Services

Support for innovation projects

54 innovation projects across Information Services have been approved as part of the 2016-17 Innovation Fund.

CIO Gavin McLachlan introduced the Innovation Fund in 2015 to encourage staff in Information Services Group to contribute ideas for projects, investments, changes, collaborations and initiatives that work towards local, departmental and University goals and visions.

The theme this year is “The year of the Student Experience” and many of the projects approved speak to improve the student experience - from the creation of brand new student services, innovative ways to enhance the student experience and increase satisfaction, decrease costs and increase quality.

It's vital that we foster innovation and give staff the freedom to pursue their ideas to improve services and deliver a great experience for our students. This is the key aim of the 2016 Innovation Programme.
