Extra study space for revision/exam study
The Main Library will be busy over the exam period. Extra study spaces are available and alternative places to study are provided nearby.
The Lower Ground Floor, Ground Floor and Floor 1 are open 24/7.
In addition, Floors 2, 3, 4 and 5 will also remain open 24/7 from 07:30 on Saturday 1 December to 23:59 on Friday 21 December.
The 4 teaching rooms on Floor 1 of the Main Library can be used (70 seats) from Saturday 1 December to Monday 17 December.
The Centre for Research Collections (CRC) on Floor 6 also has study space, ranging from 8 to 24 seats, weekdays on Tuesday 4 December and Wednesday 5 December and from Friday 7 December to Friday 21 December (excluding Thursday 6 December).
Look out for the purple t-shirted library helpers who can assist you in finding a space.
David Hume Tower
As an alternative to the Main Library, why not try the 200 additional study spaces which are available from 08:30 to 22:00 from Saturday 1 December to Tuesday 18 December in the David Hume Tower (DHT) Hub rooms LG06-LG11 (note: LG06 weekdays only).
School of Scottish Studies Archives Library
Did you know the School of Scottish Studies Archives Library at 29 George Square (18 seats) is open for any student to use, Tuesday to Friday, 10:00-16:00?
The Law Library and David Hume Tower Ground Floor computer lab are open longer on 3 Sundays: 2nd, 9th and 16th December, 12:00-19:00.
New College Library is open longer Monday to Thursday from 3 - 20 December, 09:00-22:00.

An A0 print version of the map is also displayed at the front of the Main Library forum.
From 26 November to 18 December inclusive, access to the Main Library and the Law Library is restricted for Reference users. This also includes those with SCONUL Reference Only cards. Restrictions are as follows:
|Main Library||No access from 05:30 to 17:30.|
|Law Library||No access from opening time to 17:30.|
Centre for Research Collections (CRC) users, graduates of the University of Edinburgh, full SCONUL members with borrowing rights and all other users with borrowing rights are not affected by this. Normal access arrangements will resume on Wednesday 19 December.
