CompSoc

CompSoc Edinburgh is Scotland’s largest tech society – run by students of the University of Edinburgh.

The society is a diverse community of computer scientists, programmers, and people who are passionate about the IT industry. They consider themselves the technology hub of the university.

Events

CompSoc hosts monthly Student Tech Meetups, regular workshops, and socials.

Their bigger annual social is the famous InfBall, an opportunity to glam up and let your hair down.

They organise one of the largest hackathons in the country, Hack the Burgh - with over 150 attendees coming from around the world.

Special Interest Groups

Students interested in a particular field of Informatics can start a special interest group. CompSoc offers SIGs promotion, funding and support. Some SIGs may become very successful in their field, for example, SigInt members compete in various Capture the Flag competition across the country - and they win a lot of them.
