Data and Democracy

This one-day event ran by 4th year students will open with a lecture on data collection and digital footprint by Dr Kami Vaniea. It will be followed by three interactive workshops on mass surveillance, anonymity and advertising, which will include hands-on activities. The organisers’ aim is to spread the awareness of issues involving privacy, surveillance and security with a focus on the psychology and politics behind these issues. They are hoping the workshops will spark a heated debate.
