Alan Turing Institute appoints Professor Chris Williams as a Director

Professor Christopher Williams is one of five senior academics appointed as University Liaison Directors by the Alan Turing Institute.

Professor Zoubin Ghahramani FRS (Cambridge), Professor Mark Girolami (Warwick), Professor Sofia Olhede (UCL) and Professor Jared Tanner (Oxford) have also been selected, each representing a founding partner institution.

The overall Director of the Institute is Informatics alumnus, Professor Andrew Blake FREng FRS and the Deputy Director is Professor Patrick Wolfe.

A news story posted on the Institute’s website says the new directors will help the Institute to achieve its mission by drawing upon the intellectual resources of the universities they represent, shaping activities in research, training, translation and collaboration.

Professor Blake said:

“The success of the Institute depends critically on attracting the best talent, so I am excited to see us starting off with these six internationally renowned scientists on our leadership team.”
