Industrial engagement event
Exclusive to the EPSRC CDT in Pervasive Parallelism & CDT HiPEDS.
On Thursday 10 November 2016, our EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Pervasive Parallelism will co-host an event which aims to connect its PhD students with industry leaders to identify potential areas of collaboration.
The day has been organised in association with the CDT in High Performance Embedded & Distributed Systems (HiPEDS), Imperial College London.
The event will take place in the Informatics Forum, Edinburgh and will include student and industrial presentations, an interactive student poster session, networking and opportunities for one-to-one meetings between students and industry partners.
Please note: this is a private event – participation is by invitation only. Companies interested in becoming industry partners, please email the CDT in Pervasive Parallelism at ppar-cdt@ nf.ed.ac.uk.
CDT in Pervasive Parallelism
The EPSRC CDT in Pervasive Parallelism offers fully funded PhD studentships in the computer science of parallelism. The CDT seeks to address the end of the one-step-at-time era of sequential computing. Students focus on systems containing multiple processors. Their research reconsiders how to design programming languages and architectures, for example to allow flexible trading of energy for performance. Researchers also consider the necessary theories and methodologies to reason about the behaviour of this new hardware and software. Industrial interaction ensures that students engage with real world case-studies.
