Humanoids 2015 best paper award

Dr Maurice Fallon and collaborators have received the award for best oral paper at the IEEE-RAS International Conference on Humanoid Robotics.

The paper, ‘Continuous humanoid locomotion over uneven terrain using stereo fusion’, was co-authored with Pat Marion, Robin Deits, Thomas Whelan, Matthew Antone, John McDonald and Russ Tedrake, from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Imperial College London and Maynooth University Ireland.

The conference, Humanoids 2015, took place at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, Seoul, 3-5 November.

Dr Fallon is a Chancellor’s Fellow, Member of Institute of Perception, Action and Behaviour, Principal Investigator in the Statistical Machine Learning and Motor Control Group and a research supervisor in the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics.

This work is part of on-going humanoid robotics research here in Edinburgh.
