Jon Oberlander Appointed to Scottish Science Advisory Council
Prof. Jon Oberlander has been appointed as member for the Scottish Science Advisory Council, the independent body that provides advice and recommendations on strategy, policy and priorities to the Scottish Government's Chief Scientific Adviser for Scotland.
As a member, Prof Oberlander will join four other University of Edinburgh Professors to provide advice on a broad range of scientific issues and science-related policies. Members of the council are respected senior figures drawn from right across the science, business and academic communities.
I'm honoured to have the opportunity to serve on the Council, and I'm looking forward to helping translate ideas between researchers, civil servants, and politicians.
The appointments are made following a public advertisement and selection process. All appointments are made on merit.
