School of Informatics Moves up the University Rankings
The School of Informatics is now ranked 12th in the world (up from 15th in 2013 and 30 in 2012) for Computer Science & Information Systems.
The rankings, published by QS World University Rankings, look at Universities by subject area. It considers over 2,000 institutions, and ranks over 800 based on indicators such as academic and employer reputation, student ratio and number of citations.
In terms of indicators, the School performers particularly well for its reputation amongst employers and the number of citations per paper.
Overall, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has the highest ranking, with the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford the only UK institutions with a higher ranking that ours.
