Award Winning Staff

A number of staff at the School of Informatics have received prestigious awards for research and achievements.

HP Labs Innovation Award

Paul Anderson from the School of Informatics has been selected to participate in the prestigious HP Labs Innovation Research Program.

SIGPLAN Programming Languages Achievement Award

Recognising individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of programming languages. Over the last two years, the SIGPLAN Programming Languages Achievement Award it has gone to Rod Burstall and Gordon Plotkin.

Wenfei Fan has scored a hat trick, winning best paper and test-of-time awards

This year Wenfei received the Test of Time award for a paper to the leading database theory conference PODS. He has also just received a Best Paper award at the leading international all-round database conference VLBD 2010.This follows on from a Best Paper award received in 2007 at ICDE; the leading database systems conference.

Best Paper Award at ETAPS 2010 goes to Richard Mayr

Richard Mayr received the EATCS Award for the best paper in theoretical Computer Science at the European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software 2009.
