Informatics Ventures

Informatics Ventures supports technology entrepreneurs from Scottish universities and the business community. Its investor readiness programme accelerates data-driven technology start-ups.

The programme was established in 2008. Since then, Engage Invest Exploit (EIE) Informatics Ventures’ international flagship event for data-driven innovation, has been attracting world class investors to the heart of the aspirational Data Capital of Europe,

EIE was at the genesis of the technology ecosystem in Scotland and remains very much at its heart; companies exhibiting at EIE have raised in excess of £650 million in seed and later stage funding.

2019 event attracted over 900 delegates, over 240 of whom were investors from all over the world. A total of 50 exciting technology companies, 10 of which came from outside Scotland, pitched live on the day looking to initiate or progress discussions with the assembled investors.

Another of Informatics Ventures’ events the iV Speaker Series is a networking programme featuring inspirational talks from local heroes and global success stories to raise the ambition of our nation’s entrepreneurs and unleash the potential we know they possess. iV Speaker Series also encompasses the hugely popular ‘Pitch n’ Grill’ format which sees early stage companies pitch to a table before being grilled by the group. The value of iV Speaker Series is the opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs, mentors and investors and experience the unexpected outcomes that can result from these connections.
