Title

SwissCovid Status (with a note of caution for related systems)

Abstract

SwissCovid is the Swiss COVID-19 app for contact tracing. It is based on the Apple-Google Exposure Notification (like the NHS COVID-19 app). It has been up since June 25. Since then, we have learned how it works in real. In this presentation, we will review the legal basis, the security and privacy issues, the reliability of Bluetooth, and the performance of SwissCovid according to surveys.  We will notably present an attack by which we can inject a false alert on a smartphone using NHS COVID-19 with a low-cost equipment.
