Two CIR Professors appointed to the Royal Society of Edinburgh

Professors Sarah Walmsley and Ewen Harrison are joining the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, as part of the 2023 cohort.

Congratulations to the six new Royal Society of Edinburgh Fellows from the University of Edinburgh's College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, including two professors from the Centre for Inflammation Research. 

CIR's Professor Sarah Walmsley, Professor of Respiratory Medicine, and Professor Ewen Harrison OBE, Professor of Surgery and Data Science, have both been announced as part of the 2023 cohort of RSE Fellows.

These staff members are among 91 newly appointed fellows representing science, arts, business, sports, civil society, and academia from across Scotland and beyond.

They join the RSE’s current Fellowship, which comprises 1,800 people recognised as being some of the greatest thinkers, researchers and practitioners in their field working in or with organisations in Scotland today.
