Two PIs from the CIR join a prestigious scheme from the Academy of Medical Sciences

March 2019: Marc Vendrell and Richard Mellanby have been selected to be part of the first cohort of UK emerging leaders to participate in the FLIER leadership programme

Professor Richard Mellanby and Dr Marc Vendrell from the University of Edinburgh's Centre for Inflammation Research have been selected to participate in the first cohort of the two-year leadership FLIER (Future Leaders in Innovation, Enterprise and Research) run by the Academy of Medical Sciences. This is a pioneering programme which aims to equip emerging research leaders in the UK with skills to help solve healthcare challenges, and enable them to seize opportunities across different sectors (academia, NHS, industry) to facilitate the translation of new discoveries in science, technology and medicine.
