Centre awards for Public Engagement and 3-minute talks

June 2019: Awards for "Excellence in Public Engagement" and the first Centre 3-minute talk competition were presented to Maria Panagopoulou and Caroline Chauche

The 3rd University of Edinburgh Centre for Inflammation Research Away Day was held on 20 June 2019 in Appleton Tower (George Square, Edinburgh).

Our Trainee award for "Excellence in Public Engagement", with certificate and £50 voucher, was presented to PhD student Maria Panagopoulou.  Maria has done great work with the wonderful Community Science Engagement partnership mentoring at Castlebrae Community High School, developed by Dr Cathy Southworth, and is currently developing a new Science Careers Workshop for schools.

The Centre also held our first 3-minute talk competition, with the £50 voucher won by Dr Caroline Chauche presenting  "I'm one with the worm, and the worm will guide me ... to fight asthma!"
