Postdoctoral Fellowships for Edinburgh-Zhejiang projects in Michlewski and Sloan labs

Opportunity for Postdoctoral Fellowship – Edinburgh University - Zhejiang University partnership

Infection Medicine, in the Deanery of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Edinburgh is currently inviting candidates to apply for a competitive postdoctoral fellowship scheme in partnership with Zhejiang University in China to undertake collaborative research projects.

These two-year posts will be formally based at our Zhejiang University-Edinburgh University joint Institute in Haining, China, but will include up to one year based full time at Edinburgh University with the aim of strengthening research collaborations between the two universities.

Projects are available in the following areas:

  1. Antiviral Innate Immunity, or T-cell Biology (Richard Sloan and Linrong Lu).
  2. Endogenous retroelement control via antiviral genes and/or epigenetic repression (Richard Sloan and Wanlu Liu).
  3. Non-coding RNA, stem cells, and differentiation (Gracjan Michlewski and Wanlu Liu).

Prospective postdoctoral Fellows must have a degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) from a top 100 University in the QS and/or Times Higher University rankings, and have at least one first author publication.

Salary will based on experience and publication record (250k - 300k RMB/year)

For UK based placements, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK or be eligible for a Tier 5 Government Authorised Exchange visa

Funding decision: 01 January 2020

Anticipated project start date: 01 April 2020
