Professor Sue Welburn appointed as Executive Dean of the ZJE Institute

Professor Sue Welburn of the University of Edinburgh's Division of Infection and Pathway Medicine was appointed as Executive Dean of Zhejiang University-University of Edinburgh Institute on 14 March 2017.

Professor Sue Welburn of the University of Edinburgh's Division of Infection and Pathway Medicine has been appointed as Executive Dean of Zhejiang University-University of Edinburgh Institute.

There was a brief but formal inaugural ceremony for Prof. Sue Welburn. Prof. Yonghua Song, Executive Vice President of Zhejiang University, Prof. Yibin Ying, Vice President of Zhejiang University, and Prof. K.C. Ting, Vice Dean of International Campus attended this event. Prof. Ying delivered a welcome speech and expressed his great expectation. Prof. Michael Shipston, Dean of Biomedical Science of University of Edinburgh (UoE), introduced Prof. Susan Welburn to the faculty, staff and students of the institute. Prof. Song presented Prof. Sue the letter of appointment and welcomed her to create a brighter future for the International Campus together.

It is truly a great honour to be have been appointed Executive Dean Zhejiang University - University of Edinburgh Institute.  This is an exciting opportunity to develop this new strategic partnership for teaching and research between The University of Edinburgh and Zhejiang University - two research intensive, high ranking global higher education institutions at a brand new International Campus in Haining, China
