As a composer and educator, Dee Isaacs' passion is to improve the lives of marginalised people through the power of music.
For centuries, the University has attracted truly incredible individuals from all walks of life.
In Dee Isaacs, music alumna and now Senior Lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art, students find not only a passionate artist full of creative inspiration, but also a woman who has dedicated her career to helping crisis-hit communities in Europe and Africa.
Dee's focus in life is to use her talent, and those of her students, to improve the situation that refugees find themselves in, and to work with children to find solace or calm among the life-threatening challenges they face.
During Refugee Week we hear from Dee about what drives her to carry on with her mission, how she offers unique opportunities to Edinburgh music students, and how her work visibly impacts the communities she is so committed to helping.
