Leavers Checklist - Manager
You should use this checklist when an employee resigns from your team. It details the actions you need to complete before they leave. As soon as they have resigned, you should use this checklist to make sure they have a stress free leaving experience.
There is no need for you to keep the completed checklist. Please dispose of it once all the actions have been carried out.
If an employee is not leaving the University, but transferring to another School/Department, please use the email template and transfer checklist below.
If you are approached to give a reference on behalf of an ex-employee you should state "this reference is provided in a personal capacity and that it does not represent the views of the University Of Edinburgh". Your HR Operations team can provide a standard factual reference of the individual which will include: Name, Job title, start and end dates of employment.
Leavers Checklist - Employee
You should use this checklist when resigning from the University. As soon as you have provided written notice of your resignation, you should start to complete this checklist. It provides helpful information about what you need to do before you leave.
Please sign and return the completed checklist to your manager. It will be saved on your employee file.
