Influencing Skills

Now adapted as a half day online ZOOM session, this workshop is an opportunity to explore influencing skills in an interactive and practice based workshop. 

During the workshop we will explore:

• How you can communicate in more conscious and effective ways when you are influencing others.  We will examine how you can build rapport and tune into the non-verbal signals when influencing, and how you use can modify your language in both written and face: face influencing situations.

• A number of higher education based influencing scenarios which will enable you to practice a number of influencing approaches in a range of ways (1:1, group and document based influencing).

• Explore your own influencing challenges through a number of peer group discussions.

By the end of the workshop you will have a deeper understanding of your approaches to influencing, how you can be more effective in influencing situations and how you can apply the learning from the Influencing Skills toolkit.

Aimed at:

This workshop is for leaders and aspiring leaders who want to develop their influencing skills and is open to members of staff at Grade 7 and above.  If you do not meet this criteria but feel that you would benefits from attending please contact learninganddevelopment@ed.ac.uk to discuss further.
