I really enjoy the constantly changing landscape of the area I have to be an expert in. Studying history has certainly helped in making sure I can keep on top of a lot of topics at once.

"I chose the University of Edinburgh and MA History because of the size of the department, the reputation of the University and the variety of course choices. Everything I expected was fulfilled and more when I studied here. My degree absolutely equipped me for my current employment, in fact it's been particularly helpful. The demands of reading large volumes of text and maintaining a high standard of analysis has really helped in my field of work. History develops a variety of skills. Research skills are very important in the workplace and studying history at Edinburgh definitely equipped me with these abilities."

"The city is absolutely incredible – undoubtedly one of the most picturesque in the UK. The teaching standard and staff at Edinburgh are second to none, and make going to university an absolute pleasure. I didn't have a clear career path in mind when I studied and this was also part of the reason I chose history as it left open so many doors."
