Scarlett Kiaras-Attari is originally from Kentucky, and is studying History and Politics. Likes musicals, 'Horrible Histories' and - possibly a first - the temperature of Scotland!

Jack Liddall

Jack's local but still enjoys being a tourist in his hometown. When he's not studying History and Politics he can be found working on the Royal Yacht Britannia or volunteering.

Carmen Hesketh

Originally from Glasgow Carmen was the Secretary of the History Society and worked part-time at a museum and volunteered at the University’s archives. Netflix watcher.

Carys Flew

Carys is studying History. Originally from Wales she loves the choice of modules and electives in Edinburgh degrees, and advocates buying a doorstop if you're living in halls.

Ruby Hann

Ruby Hann
Ruby graduated History MA(Hons) in 2020. She's currently undertaking an MSc in History, also with the School. She enjoys roller derby and dancing to cheesy music.

Rachel Irwin

Rachel graduated MA (Hons) History in 2020 and is currently Vice President Activities and Services for Edinburgh University Students' Association. Originally from Liverpool, she recommends either 'Introduction to Historiography' or 'The Making of the Modern Body'.

Emily is originally from Seattle but fell in love with Edinburgh. She graduated MA (Hons) History in 2020.

From Russia, Alisa graduated MA Hons in History and History of Art in 2020 having transferred to this degree in her second year.

Sarah was a History and Politics (MA Hons) student from Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Edinburgh was her first choice.

When not writing essays Sarah wrotes for the student newspaper and was usually found in close proximity to coffee.

Tom Wrench

Tom recently completed an MSc in Contemporary History after gaining his MA (Hons) History and Politics at the University of Edinburgh.

Eleanor (Ellie) Parker

Ellie recently completed an MA (Hons) in History. She spent her year abroad in Oslo, Norway and was involved in (the University’s radio station).

Flora Pringle-Paterson

Flora studied for an MA Hons in French and History and spent her year abroad in Paris. She thinks Edinburgh is the best city in the world, though.

Katie McLean

Katie studied History and Politics and spent her year abroad studying in Canada. At university she was a keen debater but also indulged her love of musical theatre and good food.

Saskia Hamilton-Bowker

Saskia was a member of the History Netball Squad during her time at Edinburgh and lists the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, climbing Arthur’s Seat, walking in the Pentland Hills and falafel wraps among her favourite things about the University and the city.
