Undergraduate teaching 2021

Information on the teaching experience you will have as an undergraduate student at the School of History, Classics and Archaeology.

Welcoming you to Edinburgh

As a University, our plan is to resume campus-based activities from September onwards, re-establishing the city and our wonderful buildings as the core and centre of gravity for our community.

Our expectation is for all students to be in Edinburgh for the start of teaching. We are optimistic about the way things are going with the pandemic, and about the efficacy of the vaccination programme across the UK, but of course we remain prudent and committed to safeguarding the health and safety of our staff and students.

Teaching and learning

Peer support

Our peer support groups are run entirely by student volunteers. The support they provide is subject to change from year-to-year in order to best reflect the needs of the student body at that time. For 2021/22 this will include the following.

Libraries, and their associated services and resources, will be an important part of your Programme. As well as offering support to your studies, our libraries offer student study spaces. Our expectation is that as Scottish Government policies relax, we will again be able to offer a comprehensive and engaging range of  on-campus library access and services in 2021-22, but with the added benefits gained from our improved and expanded digital provisions.

Please see Library Services for current service updates.
