Centre for Late Antique, Islamic and Byzantine Studies
The University of Edinburgh has one of the largest concentrations of scholars researching the late antique, early Islamic and Byzantine worlds in the UK, and many of these staff and students are in the School of History, Classics and Archaeology.
Heritage Research group

Political History Research Group
Edinburgh is one of the most active centres for the study of political history. Our members research within every historical period (from ancient to contemporary) and within a wide range of geographical contexts, covering all aspects of the subject from intellectual history to the study of elections. Our links with political scientists in the School of Social and Political Science provide interdisciplinary perspectives.
Scottish History Research Group
History at Edinburgh is one of the largest and most distinguished departments of its kind and is home to the oldest established Chair in Scottish History.
