School of History, Classics & Archaeology

Welcome to our student interns

From Monday 3 June, three current students will gain valuable, paid work experience within the School as summer interns.

Alex Wood, a third year Archaeology student, will be cataloguing archaeological artefacts in the Vere Gordon Childe Collection.

Stephanie Kelly, a third year History & Classics student, will be cataloguing and improving access to the School’s seven Book Collections, which are held in our Student Research Rooms.

Magdalena Rzepecka, a third year Ancient History student, will be consolidating our current exhibitions and displays, and recording material suitable for future exhibitions in the School.

Supervised careers experience

Alex will be supervised by Dr Gordon Thomas, who is a Senior Lecturer in Archaeology and custodian of the Vere Gordon Childe Collection.

Stephanie and Magdalena will be supervised by Mrs Margaret Forrest, our Academic Liaison Librarian.

The internships last for 10 weeks and are part of a University-wide initiative, Employ.ed on Campus, arranged by the Careers Service.
