Staff in the media

Several HCA staff have been in the media lately.

Professor Emeritus Sir Tom Devine's ‎new book, ‘The Scottish Clearances: A History of the Dispossessed 1600 to 1900’ (Allen Lane, The Penguin Press 2018), has attracted extensive coverage and  major reviews in the UK and Irish press including Times Literary Supplement, Spectator and New Statesman. Discussions are also already underway with the BBC on a two-part documentary on the book.

Dr Christopher Harding discussed the work of Marie Kondo and the art of tidying up in the New York Times, and has a podcast on 'The Story of Modern #Japan' on the website for BBC History Magazine and BBC World Histories Magazine.

Dr David Silkenat will be undertaking a North American tour for his forthcoming book ‘Raising the White Flag: How Surrender Defined the American Civil War’ (The University of North Carolina Press, 2019). You can catch David on the following dates, with more to follow:
