Digital prize for online resource

Dr Adam Budd, Lecturer in Cultural History, has been awarded the British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies Digital Resource Prize for the online resource, 'Circulating Enlightenment'. (Published 18 January 2016)

This Art and Humanities Research Council-funded website provides open access to e-learning modules and to primary sources in eighteenth-century authorship and bookselling.

With contributions from unpublished sources held in closed-access repositories on both sides of the Atlantic, 'Circulating Enlightenment' has become a popular teaching and research tool in secondary schools, colleges, and universities, accessed by students, teachers, and historians of eighteenth-century culture.

The site continues to add new learning modules and further documentary sources, edited by specialists for users with a broad range of research skills and historical interests. Dr Budd recently received the prize on behalf of his team at an award ceremony in Oxford.
