Dr Harding's Radio 3 documentary
A BBC radio documentary by Dr Chris Harding, Lecturer in Asian History, was broadcast on 16 November. (Published 17 November 2014)
The documentary, Freud in Asia, was commissioned by BBC Radio 3 following Dr Harding's time on the 'New Generation Thinkers' scheme.
The documentary looks at Freud's relationships with psychoanalysts in India, Japan, and China, and the surprising uses to which Freud's thought was put - helping to spark political, sexual, and spiritual revolutions.
New Generation Thinkers
In 2013, Dr Harding became one of ten academics from across the United Kingdom to be named ‘New Generation Thinkers 2013’. He is currently an Impact Champion for the School of History, Classics and Archaeology.
