Historian featured at International Book Festival

Professor Tom Devine will be appearing in two events at the 2014 Edinburgh International Book Festival. (Published 18 June 2014)

Professor Devine, Personal Senior Research Chair of History, will lecture on Friday 18 August, in the Main Theatre on 'The Darien Disaster: New Perspectives'. Here he will present a revised look at one of the most infamous episodes in Scottish history and consider its relevance to today’s referendum debate.

His second appearance is scheduled for Saturday 23 August when he is in discussion with Professor Linda Colley of Princeton on the question of 'End of the British Empire: Links to Scottish Nationalism?'
