Northern Lighthouse Heritage Trust funding

The School of History, Classics & Archaeology has received funding from the Northern Lighthouse Heritage Trust to undertake a fascinating oral history initiative.

A large-scale fieldwork project will be undertaken recording the oral testimonies of former lighthouse keepers and their families who have served with the Northern Lighthouse Board in Scotland. The project will be managed by Dr Wendy Ugolini and two fieldworkers, David Ritchie and Erin Farley, have been appointed. The collected material will ultimately be deposited in the School of Scottish Studies Archive, University of Edinburgh, for the availability of future researchers.
