Film focus on History graduate’s bursary

Jann Brown, a 1978 History graduate, is featured in a University film about alumni who support student bursaries.

Now Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer at Cairn Energy, Jan has established a bursary to support a student with child-care responsibilities who wishes to study at the University.

In a five-minute extract from the documentary, ‘Edinburgh Up’, Jann vividly describes her experiences as a student and why she decided to give something back.

Edinburgh Up was produced by the University’s Development and Alumni team.

Premiered in the Playfair Library on 29 October, the launch was attended by Professor Sir Timothy O'Shea, our Principal and Vice Chancellor, broadcaster Sheena McDonald, the film's narrator, together with film participants and their families, alumni, donors and staff.
