Jeremiah Dalziel Prize for British History winner announced

The School of History, Classics and Archaeology was delighted to announce the winner of the 2018 Jeremiah Dalziel Prize for British History.

The winner of the 2018 Jeremiah Dalziel Prize for British History was named as Francesca Morphakis, for her Masters dissertation, “The Role and Influence of 'Special Advisors' in the Formulation of British Foreign Policy, 1918-1922: A Study of Sir Maurice Hankey and Philip Kerr”. Francesca, who completed her undergraduate degree at the School and who was a Student Ambassador, said she felt, ‘very privileged’ to have been named the winner and plans to use the award to fund further research in the area.

Emily Dayton was awarded a runner's up prize for her MScT dissertation on women in Second World War British cinema.

Dr Wendy Ugolini, Postgraduate Director, said: ‘We would like to congratulate Francesca and Emily on their wonderful achievements and to wish them every success in their future careers. We are delighted to see such a high standard of scholarship emerging from our MSc students at the Graduate School.’
