Award for Atlas of Hillforts

The Atlas of Hillforts of Britain and Ireland project has been awarded the Esri UK Customer Success Award for Community Engagement. (Published 14 June, 2018)

HCA Hillforts

At their recent annual conference Esri UK awarded their Customer Success Award for Community Engagement to the Atlas of Hillforts of Britain and Ireland project. The project uses Esri’s GIS mapping software, and the project beat fellow users Transport London and Atkins to win.

Professor Ian Ralston said, on behalf of the Atlas team, 'We're very pleased to have won this ESRI award, which acknowledges in particular the work of my Oxford colleague, John Pouncett, as part of our joint project. Competition was stiff! It's very pleasing to see the website being so well used - with over 200000 individual visitors in its first eleven months.'
