Honour in Classical Greece Lecture - Professor Axel Honneth

The Honour in Classical Greece ERC project is delighted to welcome as its second public lecturer Axel Honneth, Professor of Philosophy at Columbia and Frankfurt Universities and Director of the latter’s renowned Institut für Sozialforschung. The theme of Professor Honneth’s lecture is 'Recognition in Modern Europe'.

Professor Honneth is Director of the world-renowned Frankfurt Institut für Sozialforschung and author of Disrespect: The Normative Foundations of Critical Theory (2007), Redistribution or Recognition? A Political–Philosophical Exchange (with Nancy Fraser, 2003), and The Struggle for Recognition: The Moral Grammar of Social Conflicts (1996). 

The lecture will be followed by a reception to which all are welcome. The event is free to attend, but registration is required.
