Why was there no Renaissance in Byzantine art?

The Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies is pleased to announce that the 2013 Denys Hay Lecture will be given by Professor Henry Maguire, Johns Hopkins University, at 5.15pm, Thursday 2 May 2013.

The lecture, entitled ‘Why was there no Renaissance in Byzantine art?’, will take place in the Teviot Theatre, Doorway 5, Old Medical School, Teviot Place.

It will be followed by a reception.
