Dr Andrew Lawrence - 'Swiss archaeology in the 21st century - Narratives, structures and trajectories'

Using nine archaeological highlights of the country, Dr Lawrence will discuss the main developments within the various institutions. To conclude, the case study of the Roman town of Baden (Aquae Helveticae) and its archaeological heritage will be presented as a case-study on the potential chances and challenges facing Swiss archaeology now and in the future. 

Dr Lawrence is part of the Institute of Archaeological Sciences at the University of Bern and Project Director for SNF-Ambizione 'Reassessing Roman impact – Geographies of power and domination in the Roman west and beyond 200 BC-AD 200'.
