Screening of 'Nae Pasaran!'

1974, East Kilbride, Scotland. Bob Fulton, a Rolls-Royce engine inspector, discovers that Chilean Air Force jet engines have arrived in the factory for maintenance.  Having seen the reports of violence and bombings by planes powered by these engines under the rule of Chile's military regime led by Augusto Pinochet, he and his colleagues deliberately halt maintenance on the engines . The documentary reconstructs the motivations behind the workers' act of solidarity - and explores its unexpected consequences.

The film will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with historian Fraser Raeburn, musicologist Martín Farias, and our CSMCH-IASH Fellow, Claudia Stern. This event is free and open to all.
