Centre for the Study of Modern and Contemporary History

Visiting Scholars Scheme

Academic staff based at other universities can apply to the Visiting Scholars Scheme for short visits to the Centre

The School of History, Classics and Archaeology runs a Visiting Scholars Scheme.

Academics, scholars and researchers may apply to visit the School for a period of 1 to 12 months, whether for a short research visit or for an extended stay during sabbatical leave from their own universities or employers. The applicant should have a specific research reason to be in Edinburgh, either because of materials available in the University library or elsewhere in the city, or because of a research link with a current member of the School’s staff.

If the applicant wishes to work with the Centre, this should be clearly stated in the application form.

For further details on how to apply, go to the Visiting Scholars Scheme website.
