Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships
This scheme enables early career researchers to undertake a significant piece of publishable work. Applicants must have a track record of research, but should not have held an established academic appointment.
The Leverhulme Trust offers prestigious fellowship awards for early career researchers which provide three years’ salary funding and a budget of up to £6000 per year for research costs. The next deadline for applications is 1 March 2018.
Please note that this scheme requires the host institution to pay 50% of the Fellow's salary, so we can only submit a limited number of applications. If you would like to apply for the 2018 round, please contact the School Research Office to register your interest and confirm your mentor by 12 noon 22 November 2017. A full draft application must be submitted to email@example.com for peer review no later than 12 noon Wednesday 10th January 2018.
The School of History, Classics and Archaeology requires all postdoctoral fellowship applicants to have a mentor in the School. You should make contact with your proposed mentor as soon as possible to discuss your application.
Applicants must have completed their PhD within the past five years (career breaks such as maternity leave will be taken into account), and should either hold a degree from a UK university or be employed by a UK university on a fixed-term contract at the time of application. The Leverhulme Trust encourages researchers to gain experience at different universities during their academic career, so we would suggest that applicants who hold a degree from The University of Edinburgh apply through another institution. Applicants who have gained postdoctoral experience at the University are welcome to apply, provided that they did not study here.
