It is not essential that you do advanced reading for any of your courses, but if you feel you would like to, our subject reading lists can get you started. 

Prepare for study

The Institute for Academic Development (IAD) offer study skills guidance, handouts and links to good study skills websites. They also offer workshops throughout the academic year.

Plan your Welcome Week!

The Edinburgh University Students’ Association (EUSA) organise a large variety of events to welcome you to the university and city and get you started. EUSA will send you further details about their Welcome Week events in advance of your arrival in Edinburgh and further details are available on their website.
