What to do in Welcome Week 2020

Welcome Week is the start of your time at Edinburgh; you will register for your courses and attend introductory sessions. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic all of the School’s Welcome introductory events will be held online to ensure everyone can attend, even if everyone is not able to join us in person at the start of semester.

Welcome to our School

Thank you for accepting your offer to study in the School of History, Classics and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh. We hope that you enjoy this opportunity to begin to explore the University and meet classmates, even if some of those introductions take place virtually in the first instance. We look forward to meeting you soon.

Welcome Week starts on Monday 14 September 2020.

Attend our School Welcome events

We strongly encourage you to attend virtually our School events during Welcome Week where possible, as they will give you important introductory information to your degree programme and to the School community.

School Welcome events

Please note some meetings have two iterations to accommodate those students who may be joining us from different time-zones. There is no need to attend both meetings – just choose the meeting time which suits you best.

Meetings will be recorded and made available to students, in case anyone really wasn’t able to attend and/or wants to re-watch the event at a later date. As there will, however, be some delay between the event and uploading the recordings of the events, we strongly recommend that you attend the live event where you can.  We will upload presentations from these meetings as well as links to the recordings when available.

Browse the list of degree programmes below to find out which subject area meeting you should attend if you are unsure.
