Support for students
The School is committed to helping you throughout your time here. This page gives information on some of the support services available to you as a student.
Student Support Office
The Student Support Office is as your first point of contact within the School for advice and support. They can provide advice and support on a range of matters, including curricula, registrations, degree transfers, special circumstances and ill health, coursework extension requests, study abroad and many administrative procedures.
If you are not sure who to approach on any other matter, the Student Support Officers will always serve as a first point of contact.
Each undergraduate in the School is assigned to a Personal Tutor who will provide them with academic advice, guidance on their course choices, regular guidance on their academic progress, and advice on where and how to seek help with personal problems.
We have an active group of peer support volunteers available to help first and second year students. The volunteers are all students of the School and will share their experience and be able to refer you on to other sources of support within the School and the wider University. They run a mixture of sessions throughout the academic year - some are drop-in, some relate to specific topics.
Other help and support
There is a very wide range of support available to students across the School and the University.
Important dates and deadlines
There are lists of important dates available for each year group.
How you can help the School
There a number of ways that you can help the School Community through volunteering opportunities such as the Peer Support Advice Surgery and at Open Days or Offer Holder Days. Involvement not only helps the School but looks really good on your CV.
