Meet your Personal Tutor

You will be assigned a Personal Tutor, who will guide you through your studies. You must make an online appointment to meet your Personal Tutor in Welcome Week.

Find out who your Personal Tutor is

Log in to your MyEd account to find out who your Personal Tutor is; this information will be added over the coming weeks and will be available to you by the beginning of Welcome Week. Don't worry if it is not there yet.

Arrange to meet your Personal Tutor

Your personal tutor will email you with instructions on how to set up an online appointment with them during welcome week. At the meeting your Personal Tutor will confirm your attendance and sign you up for your courses.

Further information about course options is available from the course option hub here. Please note this includes an opportunity to attend a live event on Monday 14th September at 4.30pm to find out more from current students about course options at the School of History, Classics and Archaeology. Videos from School academic colleagues about option courses will also be available from the hub from Monday 7th September.

View your course options online

The University provides a visual course selection and programme builder tool called Path. Once you have received an unconditional offer you will be able to log in via MyEd. Use Path to look at your degree pathway, review outside course choices and generate a timetable. Make sure that you have your MyEd log in details ready - you'll need them to access Path!

Programme Changes

Any programme change requests up to the end of week 2 (up to and including Friday 2nd Oct) should be sent directly to the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences’(CAHSS) Admissions Office, by email, cahss.ugadmissions@ed.ac.uk . The College will respond within 24 hours (Mon-Fri). Please ensure you:

  • note in the email the degree you are enrolled in and the degree that you are enquiring about switching to
  • email directly from your UoE email address

Please note that due to the reassessed exam grades, this year most of our programmes are over capacity and so programme changes will be limited. Please do email the CAHSS Admissions Office who will be able to outline your options.
