Support us

Help us attract new voices and perspectives to our School and create more opportunities for learning and scholarship in history, classics and archaeology.

The School of History, Classics and Archaeology brings together a community of researchers, students and alumni who share a curiosity for our past and how it connects to our future.

Now more than ever, the fields of history, classics and archaeology need diverse voices and different perspectives to reflect a fuller understanding of our world and its peoples. We want to grow our community. We need to inspire talented and curious people from all walks of life to consider history, classics and archaeology. We also have a responsibility to make sure potential students can access opportunities for study or research at our School and thrive while they’re here, regardless of their financial circumstances.

To do this we need support from our friends and alumni to help us offer scholarships, events, outreach and transformative learning experiences beyond the classroom.

Support scholarships

We want every student to have the opportunity to fulfil their potential, no matter their financial circumstances  but we can only do this with your support.

If you’d like to talk to us about setting up a scholarship or you’d like to contribute to existing scholarship schemes with a one-off gift or a regular donation please get in touch.

Create inspiring experiences

You can also support our Charles Mackie Student Initiative Fund, which is used to support student initiatives and activities, or feel free to talk to us about your own ideas for supporting our student community.

Provoke discussion

Our Fennell Lecture series, which is possible thanks to the generosity of history graduate Simon Fennell, invites speakers from around the world to share their insights on a range of topics of social, political and historical significance. If you’d like to help us create opportunities for debate, discussion and public outreach, get in touch.
