Princeton success for Classics alumnus

The School was delighted to hear that Classics alumnus Ivan Marić has been awarded a research Fellowship at Princeton University.

Dr Ivan Marić, who was recently awarded a PhD in Classics by the University will take up the post in September within the Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies of Princeton University. Only two positions were awarded. Ivan’s PhD thesis was on ‘Iconoclast Imperial Authority and its Contested Legacy: From the Arab Siege (717/18) until the Death of Michael III (867)’.

Ivan was also a research assistant on PAIXUE project within the School of History, Classics and Archaeology, focusing on literary performances of Byzantine literati between eighth and tenth centuries.
